Dr. Kennedy
Dr. David Kennedy is an accomplished optometrist and leader who co-founded Kennedy Vision Health Center in 1974. Ever since, Dr. Kennedy has remained committed to bringing top-rate, family-friendly care to Plymouth and Otsego, MN.
Education & Experience
Dr. Kennedy grew up in a small farm community where everyone had a great work ethic. He lettered in Football, Track, and Basketball. He was selected to represent the town at Boys State. In undergrad, he majored in math and physics with a teaching degree. He loved teaching but decided to go to optometry school where he was selected into the Tomb and Key Honor Society. He worked in the Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind. He has always been a member of the American Optometric Association and the Minnesota Optometric Association. He has lectured other doctors and assistants. Plymouth Civic League awarded KVHC (Kennedy Vision Health Center) the Music in Plymouth Award in 2018. It has been awarded the Readers Choice Award for the Best Eye Care facility 15 years in a row.
Get to Know Dr. Kennedy
Dr. Kennedy loves to workout and stay in shape. He was an avid runner including marathons until his knees suggested otherwise. He has been seen doing some amateur car racing at the Brainerd International Raceway and the Dakota County Raceway. He loves cabin life with boating and fishing. He and his wife enjoy traveling. His eight grandchildren all live near and are a high priority with many events and sports. His oldest grandson, Dr. Traverse’s son is considering optometry school so he is working in both practices now just to make sure this is what he really wants.
